  1. Mazzei Degas Separators Selected For Wichita Aquifer Project
    4/25/2017

A key component of the water supply plan for the City of Wichita, Kansas, was recharging the large aquifer that lies under the region with water from the Little Arkansas River. The river basin contains substantial farming operations which, during rain events, spike the river water with the commonly used herbicide Atrazine. Atrazine concentrations in the river frequently rose forcing the city to shutdown the bank filtration system. Advanced oxidation process (AOP) was selected to remove the herbicide. The AOP reactor’s design limited the amount of hydraulic backpressure it could tolerate. Consequently, Mazzei was challenged by the project’s design team to remove the entrained gas bubbles that remained from the prior oxidation treatment at a “not to exceed” hydrostatic backpressure of 19 feet.

  4. Using Magmeters In Zero Upstream And Zero Downstream Applications
    4/24/2017

Jack Roushey, Product Manager for Siemens electromagnetic flowmeters, presents on how to use magmeters in zero upstream and zero downstream applications. Based on their demonstrated ability to perform in non-ideal conditions, the SITRANS F M MAG 5100W and MAG 8000 electromagnetic sensors from Siemens have received approval for 2% accuracy custody transfer (MI-001) and non-custody transfer applications for installation with zero diameter upstream pipe and zero diameter downstream straight run pipe from the sensor.

  5. Aquis Day To Day Operation
    3/30/2017

Operating staff can benefit from using Aquis in their daily work. The operator gets a complete overview of pressure and flow parameters of the entire network. The user interface is intuitive and requires no previous knowledge of Aquis. The interface can be configured to suit the operator's specific needs and requirements.

  6. Aquis Water Quality
    3/30/2017

Aquis monitors and visualizes water quality covering parameters such as the age of the water, the direction and rate of flow and even the mixing of water from multiple sources. This enables the operator to choose the optimal combination of supply sources to achieve optimal water quality and optimizing production cost.
