FEATURED PRODUCTS AND SYSTEM SOLUTIONS

The AquaStorm™ cloth media filtration system is designed as an economical and efficient solution for the treatment of wet weather applications. This system utilizes a disk configuration and the exclusive OptiFiber PF-14® pile cloth filtration media to effectively filter high solids waste streams with and without the use of chemicals as determined necessary for application-specific water quality. This system is ideal for wet weather applications due to its proven removal efficiencies and high quality effluent, even under varying influent conditions.

The AquaNereda® Aerobic Granular Sludge System is an innovative biological wastewater treatment technology that provides advanced treatment using the unique features of aerobic granular biomass. The unique process features of the AquaNereda system translate into a flexible and compact process that offers energy efficiency and significantly lower chemical consumption.

The Aqua-Jet® SS-PW surface mechanical aerator, manufactured by Aqua-Aerobic Systems is certified to NSF/ANSI 61 by UL for use in potable water applications. These units can be utilized for THM stripping applications or circulation in potable water treatment systems and reservoirs with a minimum volume of 100,000 gallons.

The AquaPrime system utilizes a disk configuration and the exclusive OptiFiber® cloth filtration media to effectively filter screened, de-gritted, raw municipal sewage. This proven technology easily handles significantly higher solids loading rates compared to secondary clarified effluent (by a factor of 3 to 5 times) with the added ability to sustain a low TSS concentration, making it an ideal solution for both wet weather treatment and primary treatment in lieu of conventional sedimentation systems.

Ozone treatment for water and wastewater has been utilized successfully for several decades and continues to be a viable disinfection solution for both municipal and industrial plants, worldwide.

Technology pilot demonstrations can be beneficial to wastewater treatment plants by providing a snapshot of essential process operating conditions and allowing the customer to interact with the technology and factory personnel.

The Aqua MegaDisk cloth media filter expands on the reliability and exceptional performance of the original AquaDisk filter on a larger scale.

For nearly 50 years, Aqua-Aerobic Systems has provided thousands of customers with adaptive treatment solutions in biological processes and filtration for both water and wastewater applications. Our knowledge and expertise in applied engineering and manufacturing allows us to provide highly efficient and cost effective technologies that require less energy, less maintenance and provide a low cost of ownership over the life of the plant.

FEATURED ARTICLES

  • AquaNereda® Aerobic Granular Sludge Technology

The AquaNereda® Aerobic Granular Sludge (AGS) Technology is an innovative biological wastewater treatment technology that provides advanced treatment using the unique features of aerobic granular biomass. An aerobic granular biomass is comprised of compact granules that provide advantages compared to other secondary treatment processes.

  • Abbottstown Retrofitted A Flow-Through System With An AquaSBR® System To Meet Stringent Effluent Requirements

The Abbottstown-Paradise Joint Sewer Authority was incorporated in 1973 and utilized a continuous flow activated sludge system with an average daily design flow of 0.21 MGD. At that time the plant was only required to reduce total suspended solids (TSS) and effuent ammonia to required levels to serve the area population of about 2000. Due to urban growth and increased storm flow runoffs, the plant was in need of an expansion and upgrade by the late 1990s.

  • AquaDiamond Cloth Media Filters Achieve 0.1 mg/L Total Phosphorus Limit

With the current national emphasis on restoring the water quality of America’s urban waterways, the City of Brockton, Massachusetts, Advanced Water Reclamation Facility (AWRF) wanted to stay ahead of the regulatory cycle – in particular, phosphorus discharge limits set forth by the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program of the United States Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA). For this region of the country, the U.S. EPA has proposed total phosphorus (TP) discharge limits of 0.1 mg/L.

  • AquaDisk® Filters Reduce TSS And NTU For Power Plant Process Water

Shepard Energy Centre (owned by Enmax and Capital Power Corporation) is located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It began operating in March 2015 and is capable of generating over 800 megawatts of electricity to Alberta residents using natural gas. The facility utilizes (2) combustion turbines featuring a combinedcycle technology to generate electricity, and in addition, processes waste heat through a steam turbine to produce even more electricity. This electricity generation process makes Shepard approximately 30% more efficient than traditional coal-fired plants, and reduces overall fuel costs. Not only is Shepard’s plant more efficient, but better for the environment by emitting less than half of the CO2 emmissions per megawatt hour compared to a coal generated facility. Sulphur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide emissions are also reduced.

  • Butler WTP Solves Membrane Integrity Issues And Meets EPA LT2 Rule With Aqua MultiBore® Membranes

Butler Water Treatment Plant (WTP), located in Missouri, receives its influent from a surface water impoundment fed from Butler Lake, Maris de Cygenes River, and Miami Creek. Following treatment, it provides potable water to over 300 businesses, (4) schools, 4100 residents and (4) other Public Water Supply districts.

  • Aqua-Aerobic Introduces The OxyStar® Aspirating Aerator

Aqua-Aerobic Systems announces the release of the OxyStar® aspirating aerator to their portfolio of aeration and mixing products, which includes the Aqua-Jet® Surface Aerator, AquaDDM® Direct Drive Mixer, and OxyMix® Pure Oxygen Mixer.

  • A New Platform For Safer Surface-Aerator Maintenance

With so many different safety concerns — government-mandated or self-imposed — municipal and industrial wastewater treatment operators have a lot on their plates. Maintaining aerators used in open-basin treatment applications is just one source of those safety concerns. That is why a new approach to safeguarding worker well-being in the process of aerator maintenance activities is worth a closer look.
