Iron And Steel Pipe Resilience — What It Is And Why It Matters To You
11/13/2020
This event reviews components of pipeline resilience as interpreted by industry experts who were interviewed by the presenters. It then examines in greater detail the attributes of material strength, toughness, and fatigue; joint performance, including flexibility, thrust restraint, and seismic resistance; sustained performance in general and corrosion resistance in particular; and lifecycle considerations. A corrosion assessment and abatement model will be reviewed, a corrosion study from the Everglades will be summarized, and a seismic event under a lake in Anchorage, Alaska, will be reviewed. It’s a comprehensive outline and will be sure to spark your interest.

Disinfection Byproduct Reduction With A Novel Multi-Contaminant Treatment Approach
10/23/2020
The Central Valley of California has many potable groundwater systems operating on subsurface wells that have primary and secondary regulatory drinking water issues. Given the very challenging water quality as recognized the Division of Drinking Water, the City of Lemoore, CA water supply (consisting of multiple well clusters) is exceeding the compliance targets for disinfection byproducts (DBPs), mainly total trihalomethanes (TTHMs).

Zeta Potential And Optimizing Coagulation In The Water Treatment Process
8/7/2020
Surface water treatment, water remediation and waste water treatment are critical issues in providing safe drinking water. Control of turbidity and removal of NOM remains one of the main challenges facing water utilities. Control of the flocculation process and adjustment of coagulant dose during the course of water and waste water treatment is often a challenging step in the water treatment process.

Measuring Flow In Partially Filled Closed Pipes With An Inline Meter
8/5/2020
The session will outline how a unique metering technology has accomplished this challenging task with superb performance and longevity. Over the course of the last 30 years, since it was first introduced, KROHNE's TIDALFLUX meter has proven to be the only product that has stood the test of time. It is a full-bore device, it has no moving parts, it is factory-calibrated, and is approved for hazardous areas and for water, wastewater, and industrial applications.

Utilizing Next-Gen Smart Meters With Acoustic Leak Detection To Address Non-Revenue Water
7/16/2020
Non-revenue water is one of the biggest challenges for water utilities worldwide and in the U.S., contributing to billions of dollars’ worth of treated water lost each year. And, with up to 31 percent of water loss coming from leaks in service connections, it is crucial to have detailed knowledge and transparency across your distribution network. That’s why Kamstrup has developed a next-generation smart water meter with integrated acoustic leak detection to proactively identify potential leaks in service connections, which enables utilities to prioritize their daily efforts to where and when they will have the biggest impact.

Reducing Valve Operation Costs With Smart Valve Positioners
6/26/2020
Control valves are critical components in almost every process, and one of the most expensive. Between the compressed air driving your pneumatic actuators and the regular maintenance on the valve assemblies themselves, many factors contribute to the continual costs of keeping your process up and running.
