Non-revenue water is one of the biggest challenges for water utilities worldwide and in the U.S., contributing to billions of dollars’ worth of treated water lost each year. And, with up to 31 percent of water loss coming from leaks in service connections, it is crucial to have detailed knowledge and transparency across your distribution network. That’s why Kamstrup has developed a next-generation smart water meter with integrated acoustic leak detection to proactively identify potential leaks in service connections, which enables utilities to prioritize their daily efforts to where and when they will have the biggest impact.

The ability to have transparency across your distribution network and service connections leads to significant financial savings, improves overall operational efficiency of water supply systems, secures water resource availability, and ultimately provides a higher level of both customer support and satisfaction. The solution builds on Kamstrup’s proven ultrasonic metering technology and consists of the new flowIQ® 2200 smart water meter with integrated Acoustic Leak Detection, Leak Detector software, and a range of service offerings.  The Acoustic data is captured with each read, so regardless of the type of reading technology used — AMR or AMI — utilities can leverage the captured data without any additional effort. Our Leak Detector software presents the data for easy interpretation, allowing the utility the ability to prioritize efforts and proactively discover leaks sooner before they become larger issues.

This webinar will provide an overall introduction to Kamstrup´s new Acoustic Leak Detection technology — with focus on the flowIQ® 2200 meter, Leak Detector software, and how the overall solution addresses the current non-revenue water challenges. We will also share insight to some of the results from our current customers and field tests to date.
