SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT Launches Aquadvanced, An Innovative Solution For Optimising The Performance Of Drinking Water Networks

Faced with urban population growth and the increasing need for water, combating wastage and optimising the performance of water networks is a priority. SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT is launching AquadvancedTM, a tool that allows local authorities to monitor their drinking water networks in real time.

Around the world, 35% of the drinking water flowing through water systems is lost, amounting to 49 billion m3 of water a year. These water losses are mainly due to ageing pipes1. They need constant monitoring, maintenance and regular renewal to limit deterioration that leads to loss of efficiency, more frequent supply interruptions and growing operating costs.

Aquadvanced In The Service Of Drinking Water Network Performance
In response to these challenges, SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT is launching Aquadvanced, an innovative and modular tool that optimises all the performance indicators of a drinking water network (flow, pressure, quality) using sensors that monitor the hydraulic behaviour of the network in real time. This allows water leaks to be located and anticipated, as well as continuous monitoring of water quality.

The software centralises and analyses all the data and turns it into a powerful decision-making aid. Using this data, it ensures fast management of detected events (leaks, drops in water pressure), simulates the impact of service team interventions and monitors water quality. This gives the operator an overall view of network performance in real time.

For local authorities, Aquadvanced guarantees an improvement in the performance of the water network, thereby extending its lifetime, while optimising costs. For consumers, Aquadvanced ensures better service quality thanks to less frequent and shorter water cuts, an improvement in water quality and pressure as well as more efficient customer service.

Aquadvanced has been developed from the know-how and expertise of SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT, which operates more than 240,000 kilometres of drinking water distribution systems around the world.

Customised Solutions In Response To The Challenges Of Local Authorities And Industry
Aquadvanced is part of the launch of "Advanced Solutions", a new range of customised solutions offered by SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT in response to the challenges of local authorities and industry.

These “Advanced Solutions” include a comprehensive range of products and services, from the evaluation of a situation to the development of an action strategy and the implementation of concrete solutions. They offer local authorities and industry the most appropriate solution for their needs, allowing them to choose all or part of the products and services offered.

The first two “Advanced Solutions” presented on the occasion of Singapore International Water Week concern the optimisation of drinking water networks with Aquadvance and stormwater management with Influx.

About Influx
Influx is a software for modelling the behaviour of wastewater management systems during rainfall periods and its impact on the natural environment. This software offers a comprehensive overview, in real time, of the entire wastewater treatment system based on meteorological, metrological, hydrological and hydraulic data. It permits the forecasting of network hydraulic conditions (water flows and volumes) to prevent wastewater from overflowing and discharging into the natural environment, thus protecting the environment.

About SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT
Natural resources are not infinite. Each day, SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT (Paris: SEV, Brussels: SEVB) and its subsidiaries deal with the challenge of protecting resources by providing innovative solutions to industry and to millions of people. SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT supplies drinking water to 92 million people, provides wastewater treatment services for 65 million people and collects the waste produced by 52 million people. SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT has 79,550 employees and, with its presence on five continents, is a world leader exclusively dedicated to water and waste management services. SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT generated total revenues of EUR 14.6 billion in 2013.
