PMSL Is First Mixing Vendor Approved for Highest Quality Standard
Palmyra, PA — Philadelphia Mixing Solutions, Ltd. (PMSL) has been approved for the industry’s highest level of Quality Standard, Nuclear Quality Assurance-1, as defined by American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). On February 1, 2005, Bechtel National, Inc. of Hanford, WA completed its audit of all 18 points outlined in the NQA-1 Standard. This exceptional accomplishment makes PMSL the first, and only, industrial mixing vendor to attain this rating. Now fully NQA-1 approved, PMSL established their everyday quality practices and procedures will comply with this standard ensuring they remain unsurpassed in the industry.
The NQA-1 standard was developed to qualify vendors to supply equipment and services to US nuclear waste disposal sites. Far more stringent than the requirements to be approved for ISO 9001, all 18 points must pass the arduous audit process. Vendors qualified as ISO 9001 do not necessarily meet all the standards of NQA-1. For NQA-1 approval, a company must demonstrate a complete understanding and compliance for both national and international areas of vendor evaluation, source inspection, internal audits, in-process inspections, functional testing, quality programs and procedures, software quality, corrective action, test procedures, and personnel qualifications.
PMSL made the aggressive decision to dedicate time and resources toward ensuring complete compliance of all manuals, procedures, and software with NQA-1 standards. “Quality remains a high priority for businesses that are considering new mixing equipment.
