Pentair And SunTech Drive Deliver Simplified Solar Pumping Solution

New Pentair Pentek solar drives provide system flexibility for off-grid applications

Global water treatment company Pentair and SunTech Drive are pleased to announce a strategic collaboration to deliver simplified solar pumping solutions. The first innovation resulting from this collaboration integrates SunTech Drive's state-of-the-art solar control platform into Pentair’s Pentek variable speed drive technology.

Pentair is now offering two new solar-powered variable speed drives for North America, the Pentair Pentek Solar Drive PSD15 and PSD30 models. These new solar-powered drives are ideal for off-grid applications where access to water is a daily necessity, such as watering livestock.

The new Pentair Pentek Solar Drives are compatible with standard, readily available alternating current (AC) motors instead of more expensive brushless direct current (BLDC) motors. As a result, customers will have the ability to use pumps they currently stock and also retrofit existing systems with 4-inch AC submersible pumps and motors. Additionally, the variable speed technology within the solar-powered drives allows pumps to operate during low levels of sun, providing the user with reliable pump performance.
