Disinfection And Dechlorination At Alabama Power Plant

A power plant in Alabama faced the challenge of treating and disinfecting raw water before it could be used in their filtration system. To address this issue, they decided to install two HOD UV systems developed by Atlantium Technologies. These systems utilize ultraviolet water disinfection technology to provide non-chemical disinfection and dechlorination. By implementing this technology, the power plant was able to reduce their reliance on chlorine and significantly improve the quality of water entering their reverse osmosis system.

The Hydro-Optic Disinfection (HOD) UV technology has been designed to separate the disinfection and dechlorination processes in water treatment plants. This unique approach not only enhances efficiency and membrane life but also ensures superior water quality, while simultaneously reducing both capital and operating costs.
