360water inc. launched the 360water training site in 2000. That was over two decades ago, and one of the most critical issues at that time was called staff sustainability. There were more people leaving the water and wastewater industry than entering the industry. It was referred to as the “graying workforce” or the “brain drain.  Utilities saw experienced operation and maintenance workers leaving due to retirement incentives, restructuring, or employees reaching the point in their careers where the private industry needed their intellectual property for product development or privatization.

In this Q&A, Laura Tegethoff from 360Water discusses staff sustainability, archiving information, and elevating staff knowledge.
