Coriolis Meters For CaCO3 Measurement: The Right Answer To A Tough Challenge

Calcium carbonate (CaCO3) is used in everything from agriculture to pharmaceuticals, but the most common way of manufacturing this everyday chemical presents a tricky measurement challenge, because it involves precipitation to form a course, abrasive slurry.

Combating Cyber Threats: How To Secure Water Utility Systems

As technology gets more sophisticated, so have hackers and cyberattacks. How can utilities protect themselves and their customers?

Repairing A Suspended Pipe Within 30 Minutes With HYMAX Permanent Repair Sleeve

In the picturesque village of Arzacq-Arraziguet in southwestern France, a critical water pipeline repair showcased the efficiency of modern tools and techniques.

Managing Disparate Data In Leakage

By combining disparate data sources into a single system, water utilities can more easily glean insights and make more precise estimates about the size and location of leaks.

How Industrial Facilities Can Achieve Compliance And Prevent Downstream Contamination Using Advanced Oxidation Processes

Read about how advanced oxidation processes can offer exceptional benefits in preventing contaminants from leaching into groundwater and surface water.

Options For Retrofitting Existing Sand Filters With Pile Cloth Media

While effective, sand filters can be prohibitively expensive to maintain. For this and other reasons, many wastewater treatment plants are retrofitting existing sand filters with pile cloth media filtration (PCMF).

A Dynamic Trio For Water Networks — Smart Metering, Hydraulic Modeling, And AI

Non-revenue water is a global problem. Around 30% of drinking water is lost on its way to the consumer, imposing a huge economic loss that increases the overall cost of water treatment. The good news: By combining smart metering, hydraulic modeling, and AI, utilities can effectively increase their operational efficiency, reduce water losses, and optimize the utilization of increasingly scarce resources.

The Future Of AI Is Looming

When people talk about AI, they tend to sort into four camps: doomers, gloomers, bloomers, and zoomers. Doomers fear the robot apocalypse. Gloomers worry AI will automate away all the meaningful jobs. Bloomers are optimistic about AI innovation but want to take a measured approach with guardrails. Zoomers are already deep into it and want minimal regulation to accelerate progress. But I’d like to add a fifth mindset to the mix: the loomers.
