A Revolution In Wastewater Lagoon Aeration

The Reliant Water Technologies Lagoon Master Water Moving Aerator is specifically designed to operate in waste lagoons to provide aeration and mixing with a minimum of energy. A single unit will move the water within a 1 to 5 acre area (depends on lagoon depth), providing impressive savings in aeration energy use. The key element to the design is that the Lagoon Master utilizes the weight of moving water to break up the sludge that has developed into mounds on the lagoon bottom. This slow moving, fluid sludge mass, which stays on the bottom, allows for the ammonia, nitrogen and H2S components trapped in the sludge to rise and naturally dissipate through oxidation. Because the water moving along the bottom is highly oxygenated, the mixing action actually causes the “activation” of the sludge, thereby allowing for the indigenous bacteria in the sludge to degrade and reduce the organic sludge. The continuous mixing effect of the water also causes a natural “under tow” on the surface, thinning the algae by drawing it to the bottom where it dies and degrades. This same vertical mixing eliminates algal stratification and guarantees that seasonal turnover will never again be experienced. This process also reduces floatable surface scum and eliminates odors. This video http://youtu.be/NmsjGRo2U4o clearly shows the speed of the moving water on the bottom of the lagoon. There is an ‘Ice Option’ for lagoons that freeze during the winter. This option allows for this unique water moving aerator to operate in frozen lagoons throughout the winter without the concern of ice crushing damage.

The Lagoon Master utilizes both coarse and fine bubble diffusion technologies. Using a total of only 4 horsepower of energy, it moves over 17 million gallons of water per day through itself, and diffuses over 15 pounds of oxygen per hour into the water. The Lagoon Master is made of HDPE, with an aluminum or stainless steel frame. The anodized industrial blowers are warranted for 3 years. The only maintenance requirement for the Lagoon Master is the annual cleaning of two stainless steel blower filters. In most installations customers experience an ability to pay for their aerators within the first year in energy and maintenance savings alone.
