WIFIA, AWWA, And The Future Of Infrastructure Improvements

David LaFrance, the CEO of the American Water Works Association (AWWA), kicked off ACE14 by speaking with Todd and Todd of Water Online Radio about AWWA, this year's conference, and some of the largest topics affecting the water industry. LaFrance discusses AWWA's new vision statement — “A Better World through Better Water” – and how this edict is influencing the organization's efforts to improve water quality in bold, far-reaching ways. He also talks about the ACE14 agenda and how the conference has evolved over the years.

Speaking on the state of the industry, LaFrance shares insight on the prospective impact of the Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA), recently signed into law by President Obama. AWWA is an avid supporter of WIFIA and played an integral role in getting the legislation approved, but LaFrance states that there is still work to be done.
