Highlights Include 520/620 NEMA, SPX and 520RE LoadSure™ Elements Pumps

Wilmington, MA — Watson-Marlow Bredel, the leading manufacturer of peristaltic pumps, will showcase its environmental processing solutions, including its 520/620 NEMA, SPX and 520RE LoadSure™ Elements peristaltic pumps, at the AWWA 2006 Annual Conference & Exposition on June 11-15 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, TX at Booth #415.

All Watson-Marlow Bredel pumps on display offer an enduring solution for tough environmental applications. Unlike other pump types, the highly abrasive nature of sludge and slurries does not affect pump life. Each pump is virtually maintenance-free with no expensive seals to replace, no check valves to clog and no rotors and stators to wear out. Also, hose replacement is quick and easy with a self-loading design.

The 620 and 520 pumps are ideal for Chemical metering applications, such as sodium hypochlorite, ferric chloride, alum and polymers. The 620 Series introduces market-leading flow rates at pumphead speeds that don't compromise tube life. With their extended performance, 620 Series pumps can reliably deliver 50% more flow than the previous model; a single 620RE pumphead is capable of 5 gpm and pressures up to 60 psi. The 620 Series also provides unrivaled performance with a control ratio of 2650:1. The 620 Series requires minimal maintenance, reduces downtime, and provides a cost-effective alternative to other pump technologies.

The all NEW 520RE LoadSure™ Elements range of peristaltic pumps, designed for increased overall performance and pressure capabilities, can handle pressures up to 100 psi, breaking new ground in peristaltic technology. LoadSure tube elements provide guaranteed correct tube loading every time, as well as easy, one-minute maintenance with no snaking, twisting or pinching, keeping downtime at a minimum.

The 520's high-powered, brushless DC motor gives it controllability from 0.1 rpm to 220 rpm with speed accuracy to 0.1%. The 520 also provides precision dosing and metering, resulting in exceptional consistency with an incredible 875,000:1 flow range. The new 520 pumphead accepts eight different tubing materials and sizes up to 9.6mm for flow rates ranging from 4 microliters/min up to 1 gpm at 30 psi.

Also on display this year is the heavy-duty SPX pump, which reliably handles a variety of harsh materials, such as sludge and abrasive slurries. The SPX is ideal for high-flow, high-pressure situations, capable of handling flow rates of .08 gpm to 400 gpm at 230 psi. Advanced hose technology enables dependable pumping of corrosive chemicals at high flow and pressure rates for a long period of time.

Every Watson-Marlow Bredel peristaltic pump is an inherent metering pump with repeatability at 99.5%. Many models include integral digital drives and displays in washdown enclosures. These self-priming pumps accommodate flow rates from 0.1 microliter to 400 gpm, and are extremely durable, withstanding pressures up to 230 psi. There are no internal universal joints, valves, dead corners, or glands to impede flow, and these pumps are reversible for back flushing lines. They can also run dry indefinitely without damage and provide up to a 30-foot suction lift.
