The wastewater analysis techniques leveraged in the treatment industry have been rapidly adopted by researchers in their attempts to identify surges in disease and protect public health. Last year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) added wastewater analysis data to its national COVID-19 tracking dashboard and more recently, scientists have turned to this analysis to combat the spread of polio and monkeypox as well.
