Wallingford Software - Software Tools For The Water Industry

Wallingford Software is dedicated to the development, sale, and support of market-leading software tools for the water industry worldwide. Our products include data management and network modeling software to support planning and operations in water distribution, sewerage provision, river management, flood forecasting and coastal engineering.

Wallingford Software is the software products and systems company within the HR Wallingford Group, founded in 1947 as the UK Government's Hydraulics Research Organisation within the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research. HR Wallingford was transferred from the Department of the Environment to the private sector in 1982. Wallingford Software Limited was launched in 1987. Our products and our entire approach to our business reflect and benefit from this very strong hydraulic engineering pedigree.

Wallingford Software's Training and Education Unit has achieved "Authorized Provider" accreditation with the International Association for Continuous Education and Training (IACET) enabling it to award Continuous Education Units (CEUs) and Professional Development Hours (PDHs) to Engineers who attend its classes around the world. Wallingford Software has offices in the UK, USA, Australia, Malaysia and China and distributors throughout the rest of the world.

InfoWorks
InfoWorks is a multi-user system that gives users access to a range of hydraulic and hydrological models in a GIS environment. The 3-D views of water networks and flood maps really make the most of the powerful combination of GIS and hydraulic modelling. InfoWorks allows users to build network models quickly and accurately from GIS data. The suite includes:

  • InfoWorks CS for collection systems (launched in 1998)—for urban drainage network modeling
  • InfoWorks WS for water supply (launched in 1999)—network modeling for water supply and distribution
  • InfoWorks RS for river systems (launched in 2001)—integrated network modeling solution for river systems
  • InfoWorks Viewer, for viewing the data and results of models previously built.
InfoWorks operates on Windows 98, 2000, NT and XP.

InfoNet
In November 2002, Wallingford Software launched InfoNet, the water industry's first Management Information System for water and wastewater network infrastructure. Designed for operations managers, engineers and planners, InfoNet enables users to integrate, clean and analyze their network data to provide up-to-date information and reports on network infrastructure and performance, presented in easy-to-use formats.

InfoNet stores and displays all information relevant to network asset data, including location, dimensions, material, condition, vulnerability, and survey and inspection results. Users of ArcView 3.x and ArcGIS 8.x (personal databases and geodatabases) can exchange asset data with InfoNet. The connectivity and clean-up tools in InfoNet add value to GIS network data.

InfoNet operates on Windows 98, 2000, NT and XP.

FloodWorks
FloodWorks is a real-time operational system, for use in the control room, in particular for flood forecasting for river catchments and coastal areas. Real-time meter readings from telemetry are combined with meteorological forecasts and water models in order to provide forecasts of water level, flood depth and sea state for the hours or days to come. FloodWorks has an open architecture that enables a wide range of hydraulic, hydrological and wave models to be plugged-in.

FloodWorks operates on Windows 98, 2000, NT and XP.
