Source: Aerzen

By Beth Brindle, Water Online

The City of Adelanto, Calif., wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) receives an average flow of 2.2 million gallons per day (MGD), but had a permit that allowed treatment of only 1.5 MGD. The remaining 700,000 gallons per day had to be diverted and treated by the neighboring Victor Valley Wastewater Reclamation Authority. Due to the limited capacity, aging equipment, and cost of treating the diverted flow, the city was in urgent need of an infrastructure upgrade.
