Tramfloc, Inc., a diversified manufacturer of water and wastewater treatment chemicals and equipment, announces the introduction of Tramfloc® 878, an oil-in-water emulsion breaker. The formulation has been proven effective in separating fats, oils and greases with their associated suspended solids from processing effluent. Tramfloc 878, a non toxic organic coagulant, helps produce a high quality supernatant while agglomerating the oily solids into a dense floc for removal by skimming, underflow pumping or DAF activity. The formulation is effective on emulsions created in general manufacturing and particularly in food processing operations such as dairy products, meat packing and edible oils. Tramfloc 878 breaks out oils from the water phase of the emulsion so the fats, oils and greases can be reused or sent to disposal. The clarified water will normally have low TSS, FOG and NTU levels and so reuse is possible. In this manner regulatory compliance can be effected. The formulation is a convenient to apply and store liquid product available in drums and bulk deliveries from strategically located warehouses.
