Timmons Group Awarded MS4 Stormwater Program Update Contract For City Of Petersburg, Virginia
The firm will provide engineering services to assist the city in meeting the requirements of the Virginia Stormwater Management Program's General Permit for Discharges from Small MS4s (municipal separate storm sewer systems).
Richmond, Va. (PRWEB) - Timmons Group, an ENR 500 Design Firm and a leader in civil engineering and professional consulting services, announced today that the firm has been awarded a contract by the City of Petersburg, Virginia to provide engineering services to assist the city in meeting the requirements of the Virginia Stormwater Management Program's General Permit for Discharges from Small MS4s (municipal separate storm sewer systems). Phase I of the contract includes updating the city's MS4 Program Plan and recommending additional strategies for continued permit compliance. Phase II of the contract includes studying the feasibility of the city's implementation of a stormwater utility program and associated funding mechanisms to support the program.
Timmons Group's Program Update and Compliance Project Manager, Aislinn Creel, PE, LEED AP, focuses extensively on MS4 permit compliance. Given the potential need to implement a stormwater utility fee or other dedicated funding source, Timmons Group asked Camp Dresser & McKee (CDM) to join the team to assist with Phase II tasks. CDM has recently provided stormwater utility implementation services for the City of Colonial Heights.
