The Water Online Show: KROHNE

Source: KROHNE, Inc.

CO2 has always been the sticking point for ultrasonic biogas measurement: it does not readily pass sound, and biogas from digesters at wastewater plants and manure operations often carries plenty of it. Rich Lowry, water and wastewater industry manager for North America at Krohne, joins Angela Gottman of Water Online to talk through what a biogas meter tells an operator about usable methane, and what changed in the latest version of the Optisonic 7300. He covers the new frequency and transducer design, the gains in line size, moisture tolerance, and CO2 handling, and where the meter stands with EPA's alternative measurement protocol.

Watch the conversation to hear how the redesign addresses a long-standing limitation.
