Search Warrant Claims Houston Wastewater Plant Performed Illegal Discharges, Falsified Reports

An investigation led Texas police officers to accuse a local wastewater treatment operation of releasing untreated sewage into source water and attempting to cover it up by doctoring samples and records.

“From the statements of credible experts and information from lab test results collected by the City of Houston and Busby Environmental, there is probable cause to believe that raw sewage and/or pollutants are being discharged into Bens Branch, a waterway, a direct discharge point into Lake Houston,” a Houston Police Department sergeant wrote in a recent search warrant, per KHOU 11.
