Roscoe Moss Co.

The early migration of settlers to the western United States brought a need for assured water supplies in that vast, largely arid region. Water for agriculture, mining and transportation coupled with an exploding population, required deep water wells and the development of products of unusual strength and capacity. Beginning before the turn of the century S. A. Clampett and Company became the leader in water well construction in the Southwest. Roscoe Moss joined the firm in 1906 and became a partner (Clampett and Moss) in 1914. In 1920 Roscoe Moss became sole owner and a long history of inventing and developing methods and products began. He incorporated Roscoe Moss Company in 1927 and transformed the water well drilling firm into an innovative, well equipped and highly skilled contracting and manufacturing business. In the years since its inception, Roscoe Moss Company has contributed significantly to the ground water development industry in the Southwest, across this continent and around the world.
