Built-in flow conditioning elements drastically reduce upstream straight-run requirements, making the meter ideal for tight pipe configurations. For example, after a 90-degree elbow, 15-diameters of pipe run would be required. The 780i only needs 1-diameter and zero downstream diameters. The instrument measures up to 60,000 sfpm (305 smps) and features a 100:1 turndown.
In addition, while the meter always provides in-line air flow measurement of mass flow rate and temperature, the addition of a pressure sensor to the sensor probe creates a fully multivariable version. The ability to change gases and pipe sizes in the field adds to the ease of use and flexibility of the instrument for highly accurate air flow velocity measurement.
