The Model 90-11 is a pressure reducing valve with two adjustable CRD pilots. One pilot is set with a high pressure setting for high flow periods and the second pilot is then set at a lower pressure for low flow periods. The 90-11 for leakage abatement is an improvement over a single setpoint pressure reducing valve because with a single setpoint valve the system remains over pressurized except during high flow periods. While providing two distinct set pressures directly downstream of the valve, the system pressure at the critical point will remain nearly constant. The low pressure setting for low slow periods will provide savings by reducing background leakage. External power is required for the solenoid that selects which downstream pressure to use. The customer must provide a control system to determine when to shift the solenoid so as to prevent holding the low pressure set point during unforeseen high flow demands such as fire flow.
