Pennsylvania American Water Announces Water Tank Rehabilitation In Montrose
Pennsylvania American Water announced recently plans to rehabilitate its 380,000-gallon water storage tank along Quarry Street, Montrose Township. During the project, the company does not expect any service interruptions to local customers while crews work on the approximately $180,000 project.
Slated to start the week of August 5, the project includes inspecting, sandblasting and repainting the tank to provide a protective barrier that prevents the steel from rusting and compromising water quality. Crews will strip the original paint and apply a new coating, which will add to the lifespan of the structure.
Construction will take place Monday through Sunday,from7 a.m. and 7 p.m. The company expects the project to be completed and in service by the end of the September.
The Montrose Township structure is one 14 existing tanks being rehabilitated this year across Pennsylvania, along with nine new water storage tanks that the company is constructing, which represents a total investment of approximately $16.5M.
