Only US Manufacturer Of Decanter Centrifuges Announces Nationwide Reach With Latest Installations

Cities from Seattle to New York lead the way with American-made dewatering innovations as US cities believe in the power of USA manufacturing

Centrisys Corporation, a global innovator of decanter centrifuges and dewatering systems for municipal applications, announced recently new installations of dewatering centrifuges at three New York City wastewater treatment facilities. This marks the spread of Centrisys’ American-made centrifuges from coast to coast, having already sold to a list of cities including Seattle, Denver, Green Bay, Austin, and Cleveland. These latest installations further demonstrate Centrisys’ traction in the U.S. market – setting a standard for quality and innovation for municipal wastewater treatment plants across the country.

In a fiercely competitive market, Centrisys’ domestically produced technology and local supply network has differentiated the company with higher quality and equitable pricing. Behind its commitment to U.S. manufacturing, Centrisys leverages a network of U.S. suppliers to meet municipalities’ individual needs, and uniquely services any brand of centrifuge equipment anywhere with parts, repair and the retrofit of machines.

The Technology
CS26-4 Decanter Centrifuge, is a high capacity, two- or three-phase American-made decanter centrifuge that features:

  • Direct measurement and monitoring of centrifuge control parameters and management of the hydraulic scroll drive to continuously, easily and effectively fine-tune torque as well as scroll and bowl speed.
  • Higher throughput through a combination of beach design, higher hydraulic pressure and torque producing throughput that is generally higher than found on other systems.
  • A hydraulic scroll drive for higher torque at lower energy consumption than the traditional gearbox.
  • Centrifugally cast duplex stainless steel bowl components for higher strength and corrosion resistance.
  • The feed capacity has a range of 200-400 gallons per minute (gpm) and achieves a cake dryness of up to 40 percent depending upon process type and condition.

New York City
A total of 48 CS26-4 HC, 2-phase decanter centrifuges are scheduled to be installed at three plants in New York City by 2020. The series of installations will be completed in three phases with the first of three underway to process the city’s anaerobically digested sludge, improving plant efficiency in the biosolids handling process. Each of these three plants will install 16 CS26-4 units:

  • Wards Island Wastewater Treatment Plant, New York City, NY. The project was awarded in 2013 and has an expected completion date of 2017. The units are currently being installed.
  • Hunts Point Wastewater Treatment Plant, Bronx, NY. The project was awarded in 2015 and has an expected completion date of 2020.
  • 26th Ward Wastewater Treatment Plant, Brooklyn, NY. The project was awarded in 2016 and has an expected completion date of 2020.

“In the U.S. today, there are nearly 15,000 treatment facilities that among them require $15B in upgrades annually as they face infrastructure concerns for effective management of wastewater,” said Michael Kopper, Centrisys CEO and Founder. “Our equipment is firmly rooted in the United States and these latest installations in New York City demonstrate a country-wide belief in our U.S. made technology as plants rethink how to approach investing in new technologies for the future.”
