Municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants generate strong, unpleasant odors in varying degrees throughout the treatment process. This can create significant challenges in pump stations, headworks, primary clarifiers, digesters, lagoons, and sludge handling areas.

The odors generally associated with these processes – which include hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, sulfur dioxide, skatoles, mercaptans, amines, and indoles – are a nuisance not only to employees, but to nearby businesses and residential developments as well.

Similar to atomization with a few added benefits, vaporization provides an environmentally friendly delivery of natural Ecosorb®. Unlike atomization, no water is used in the vaporization process. Through the vapor phase system, pure Ecosorb® products are pumped through a perforated pipe distribution system, creating a dry mist to eliminate airborne smells.

Efficient vaporization systems are easy to operate and provide an economical odor control solution. Another key benefit is that a vapor phase system delivers dry Ecosorb® product vapors at rates as low as 450 CFM to a high of 3,000 CFM, making it adaptable for a variety of applications.
