Two recent articles in the Gloucester County Times of New Jersey report on an ion exchange program in Monroe Township, New Jersey that promises to reduce sodium in drinking water. This three-month testing program by Hungerford & Terry, Clayton, NJ is now in the second month. If cleared by New Jersey state officials, this process would offer significant cost savings to municipalities that are considering a more expensive reverse osmosis process to remove sodium to below 50 mg/L in drinking water.
