New Bar Screen Monster Utilizes Exclusive Technology To Capture More Debris

JWC Environmental is proud to introduce the new Bar Screen Monster, the first self-contained reciprocating rake bar screen designed to capture and transport large amounts of wastewater debris to the discharge point.
Bar Screen Monster utilizes industry exclusive features such as a fully submersible, explosion proof brake motor that drives the rake along the tracking system. As the carriage moves up, the rake removes debris from the bar rack. The unit consists of a fully replaceable, non-lube pin rack and tracking system for easy maintenance without removing the screen from the channel. The pin rack and tracking system can be removed in sections - removing the carriage from the screen is not necessary.
"Our goal was to create a product compact enough for use in multiple wastewater screening applications but versatile in function to separate larger amounts of debris," explained Kenny Oyler, Monster Separation Systems Director. A complete Bar Screen Monster will be on display in WEFTEC Booth 1331.
Also, the Bar Screen Monster's completely submersible drive means the unit is compact, resulting in low head room, making it easy to install and requiring a smaller installation area. It accommodates channel widths from 2.5 (0.8 m) to 6.5 (2 m) feet and depths up to 12 feet (3.7 m). The rake speed operates at a minimum 20 feet (6 m) per minute.
The Bar Screen is available in angles from 80, 85 or 90 degrees. This efficient design results in a lower life-cycle cost making it an economical choice for head-works, pump stations and industrial applications.
The unit is protected by JWC's patented Monster Blind Diagnostic System (MBDS) that monitors the amount of debris collecting on the bar rack during operation. The system reads the percent blinding of the bar rack, displays it on the Operator Interface Terminal (OIT) and if blinding becomes excessive, sends a signal to the OIT alerting the operator to check the screen.
