Nature-Based Solutions From Asia Pacific Explored
An open-access webinar series for the water industry will have nature-based solutions in the Asia Pacific region at the heart of its next event. The 29th Water Action Platform webinar takes place on 22 July and will be led by Yang Villa, head of the Philippines at innovation consultancy Isle.
Nature-based solutions are actions that protect, sustainably manage and restore natural and modified ecosystems. They address societal and environmental challenges effectively and adaptively, simultaneously providing benefits for human wellbeing and biodiversity.
The webinar will include a technology presentation from Dr Chris Walker from Australian floating wetlands specialist Clarity Aquatic. There will also be an interview with Geoffrey Wilson, senior water resources specialist in the sustainable development and climate change department of the Asian Development Bank.
Maintaining the Water Action Platform’s reputation for covering the issues around Covid-19 affecting the water sector, Dr Jo Burgess, senior technology consultant, Isle will share the latest findings on COVID-19 vaccines and variants, as well as stories about the post-pandemic "new normal" from utility chief executives in the Asia-Pacific region.
The webinar will be taking place at 7.30am and 4.30pm BST. To receive an invitation to the webinar, please visit: www.wateractionplatform.com/contact.
About Water Action Platform
The Water Action Platform was initiated in March 2020 when Isle provided a platform to facilitate knowledge sharing for utilities across the world as they navigated their way through the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then it has grown rapidly and, whilst still focusing on key COVID-19 developments, a much wider range of water-related topics are covered.
The Water Action Platform has become an incredibly vibrant forum for organisations and individuals to share their experiences; it is a brilliant example of collaboration and the sharing of best practice.
The Water Action Platform includes over 1200+ members from 681 organisations across 90 countries and is constantly growing. For more information, visit www.wateractionplatform.com
