MakeSafe 2000

The MakeSafe 2000 software comes closer to an actual gas emergency than any other training. It simulates the most dangerous scenarios without putting anyone in real danger. MakeSafe 2000 is designed to make gas utility employees think.

What would they do if they entered a house, apartment, or com-mercial building where natural gas has begun to concentrate? How would they handle the situation if gas was found? The best way to ensure how your employees will respond is to place them in a situation as lifelike as possible. Are you 100% satisfied that your crew would respond as directed in your stan-dard operating procedures?

MakeSafe 2000 contains 31 interactive gas leak scenarios designed to test users' leak investigation skills. Scenarios involve leaks in homes, apartment complexes and commercial buildings including indoor odor calls, outdoor odor calls and some odor calls that cannot be traced to natural gas.

MakeSafe 2000 is designed as a simulation; students will work through the odor call as leak professionals would in real life. The focus of each scenario in the program is to ultimately make each odor investigation area safe for life, property and the environment. Indi-vidual leak summaries, in print form, are available to students and administrators at the end of each scenario. Company-specific makesafe actions can be added to the MakeSafe 2000 program user program.

MakeSafe 2000 can be used as an evaluation tool to qualify leak investigators and first responders under the DOT Pipeline Operator Qualification Rule.
