La Caldera - Flood Control
Source: KSB, Inc.
Mexico City is situated on a plateau at an altitude of over 7,000 feet above sea level. Due to the geographical location, natural rainwater run-off is very limited, which makes uncontrolled flooding inevitable. In order to provide the city's inhabitants with long-term flood control, CONAGUA, Mexico's national commission for water and wastewater, initiated the country's largest and most significant infrastructure construction at that time: the La Caldera pump station. KSB supplied 24 KRT submersible pumps together can handle over 10,000 gallons per second. Watch to learn more about this landmark project.
