KLa Slot Injector Aeration System Starts Up At Large-Scale Nitrogen Removal Project

During the Fall of 2010 KLa Systems successfully started up their slot injector aeration system at one of the world’s largest food processing plants. The slot injector system is installed in two, 2.25 million gallon reactors, and consists of four aeration headers, four 125-HP recirculation pumps and four 200-HP blower packages. The system is designed for total nitrogen removal such that either reactor can run anoxic with only one recirculation pump in operation. The KLa slot injector system has a total oxygen transfer capacity of 160,000 lb/day.
