Journal AWWA Peer-Reviewed Articles Available Online At No Cost To The Public

Publication first in the water industry to transition to open access model

The American Water Works Association recently announced that peer-reviewed articles in Journal - American Water Works Association are now available at no cost to view online and download.

While many scholarly publications in recent years have adopted an open access model for their articles, AWWA’s Journal is the first publication in the water industry to transition to this model. Journal AWWA, published continuously since 1914, is AWWA’s flagship publication and includes both professional and scholarly content, publishing both peer-reviewed and nonpeer-reviewed articles.

"Journal AWWA is excited to lead this important effort to open the availability of peer-reviewed water articles to the world," said Editor-in-Chief Michael J. McGuire.

As part of Journal AWWA’s transition to an open access model for the publication, all peer-reviewed articles published after Jan. 1, 2015 will be available to the public to view and download. Also, there are no charges to authors as part of this new publication policy. Twenty-five years of back issues of Journal AWWA will be publicly available at no charge later this year.

Authors interested in submitting articles to Journal AWWA may do so by visiting the publication’s webpage.
