Insta-Valve 250 Mitigates Large Service Outages In Residential Neighborhood

The Town of Holly Springs in North Carolina recently faced a challenging situation when a leak occurred in a transmission line within a residential neighborhood. The leak was specifically located at a tapping sleeve on the line, making it essential to isolate the leak promptly. However, the closest valves available were too far apart, which would have resulted in water service outages for over 40 residences.

In order to minimize service disruptions and provide targeted control, the town turned to Hydra-Stop's Insta-Valve 250 insertion valves. These valves were chosen for their ability to efficiently control the flow of water and prevent widespread outages.

Remarkably, the valves were installed in just half a day, significantly reducing the shutdown area to only a few residences. This meant that the vast majority of residents in the affected area were able to maintain their water service without any interruptions. By utilizing the Insta-Valves, the town was able to shut off the water supply to the damaged tapping sleeve and safely repair the transmission line.
