Rock Hill, SC — Industrial Test Systems, Inc. has announced the release of the new and improved SenSafe™ Manganese Check. This product provides effortless testing utilizing the modified PAN method and an easy 3 step procedure. Eliminating the use of hazardous chemicals, it is the first colorimetric Manganese test that requires no liquid reagents. Manganese results are available in 3 minutes.

This test uses a modified PAN method as developed by Goto, et al, Talanta 24, 652 (1977). This test method uses Ascorbic Acid (#1 Strip) to reduce all oxidized manganese ions into Mn+2; and an alkali cyanide reagent (#2 strip) to mask interferences. The PAN indicator strip (#3 strip) develops an orange color in the presence of manganese.

Detection levels are <0.02, 0.05, 0.1, 0.2, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 mg/L (ppm). The US Patented product is sold in kits of 24 individually wrapped packets with a color chart card. SenSafe™ Manganese Check is the quick solution for testing manganese concentrations in drinking water.
