On November 19 at 8:00 am Pacific time, join me for a free, information-packed webinar on how to use LinkedIn to position yourself, your company, and the water industry.
In this webinar, I will share the lessons I have learned since joining LinkedIn in 2004 and using it as a powerful positioning and storytelling tool. You'll learn how to build your LinkedIn network; engage with LinkedIn groups from the fields of ozone, water, and wastewater; and publish and promote unique content on your LinkedIn page.
The webinar — How to Stand Out On LinkedIn...Tips for Water Professionals — is presented by the International Ozone Association's Learning the ROPES program, which is geared especially to young professionals. However, IOA welcomes attendees of all ages and skill levels. In fact, I've drawn in perspectives from my Gen X and Millennial friends to cross generational lines and tap into a wide range of communications styles.
Here's the first secret you'll learn: LinkedIn is a wide-open frontier for innovative water industry leaders, because although it has become the cornerstone of professional social media, only 15 percent of water industry professionals are active on LinkedIn right now. That means you can still be a pioneer in the space.
I think LinkedIn is poised for a boom among water professionals. Decades before LinkedIn was even a good idea, John F. Kennedy said, "A rising tide lifts all the boats." We need to raise the tide ourselves. If we want the equipment we sell and the services we provide to have value, we need to tell our stories — and tell water's story — so our customers see the value, but also so the general public places an appropriate value on water. LinkedIn can be a powerful tool to accomplish that.
Entrepreneur Mark Cuban challenges people to consider what they learned during the pandemic. Why not be able to say, "I learned how to better position myself, my company, and my industry on LinkedIn"?
