Anaheim, CA Hilton Installs Aboveground Passive Grease Interceptors
Case History: Anaheim, CA Hilton Installs Aboveground Passive Grease Interceptors
A 2006 initiative by the Anaheim Hilton to expand their restaurant services required an upgrade of their antiquated grease removal system in order to comply with the municipal fats, oils, and grease (FOG) pretreatment program. Working closely with the Hilton Hotel Corp., Environmental Engineering & Contracting, Inc. (EEC), of Santa Ana, CA, specified, purchased, and installed two Highland Tank Double Basin Passive Grease Interceptors (PGI). These high performance gravity grease interceptors were chosen to remove the large quantities of fats, oils and grease generated by the restaurant's kitchen. Without removal, this grease might clog the city's sewer pipes or interfere with proper treatment of municipal wastewater.
EEC has been working for many years in the state of California to study FOG blockages in Orange County sewer lines that are causing sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs) and to evaluate various methods of grease removal. In addition, EEC contracts with many Orange County Waste Water authorities as a consultant on grease removal solutions.
