HDR Water & Natural Resources Professionals Set For Big Slate Of Presentations At WEFTEC 2013 Conference
HDR again will have a large contingent of presenters and workshop participants at the largest water quality event in North America – WEFTEC 2013.
The 86th annual Water Environment Federation Technical Exhibition and Conference will feature the latest in water quality research, technology and services for wastewater specialists Oct. 5-9 at the McCormick Place South Convention Center in Chicago.
There will be 24 different HDR water and wastewater professionals presenting papers in technical sessions and opening weekend workshops, as well as two poster presentations and two session moderators and four assistant moderators.
Three professionals will be presenting multiple papers – Joe Cleary of Mahwah, N.J., Hany Gerges of Walnut Creek, Calif., and JB Neethling of Folsom, Calif. HDR also has 10 other professionals listed as co-authors on other presentations, including three in the Oct. 7 Leading Edge Nutrient Removal Research and Practical Applications half-day session.
Several from HDR also will be participating in the activities surrounding the Oct. 5 WEF Young Professionals Community service project. This year’s project is titled Reading, Writing and Rain Gardens. Concrete on the playground at Haines Elementary School in Chicago’s Chinatown neighborhood will be replaced with green infrastructure.
A new twist to the Young Professionals project is an event called “WaterJAM,” a musical benefit to raise additional funds for ongoing maintenance of the WEF Community Service Project. On the evening of Oct. 5 at the Gallery Bar, emeritus members of the Young Professionals group plan to host this open mic format to provide an eclectic mix of wastewater professionals and amateur musicians.
Here is the list of HDR professionals scheduled to participate in Chicago:
