Glencore Appoint Osmoflo For Operations And Maintenance Of Oaky Creek Site

Osmoflo has secured the contract to provide operations and maintenance support to the Oaky Creek coal mine - a Glencore managed operation.

Located in Central Queensland, Australia, Oaky Creek is a large scale complex made up of the Oaky No.1 Underground Mine, Oaky North Underground Mine and the Surface Operations.

The mining operations are underpinned by a multi-method water management strategy that aims to reduce the amount of mine-affected water held on site, as well as reducing the amount of raw water from the local water supply used for mining operations.

Osmoflo will provide operations and maintenance support via dedicated on-site technicians, supported by remote monitoring via a 24 hour control centre, with Process Engineering support and reporting to balance the water demand and availability on-site.

Mike Shortt, National Service and Operations Manager of Osmoflo explained:  “We are pleased to continue strengthening our longstanding relationship with Glencore. By optimising the plant reliability and performance through our operations and maintenance support, Glencore can focus on the operation of the mine itself.”

“Osmoflo offer operations and maintenance to our own plants, but also offer this same service to existing plants from alternative providers, as seen in this instance.”

The agreement continues Osmoflo’s involvement as a true support partner for Glencore, offering dedicated on-site manning, process support, consumables and long term relationships across a number of Glencore’s network of nationwide sites.
