FLOODEX® Floodvents
While enabling floodwaters to enter and exit such enclosed foundation spaces, foundation flood openings or flood vents can substantially reduce the threat of many flood hazards before the fact by helping to prevent foundation failure. Hazards include the possible injury to or loss of human life, damage to or total loss of dwellings, businesses, public health issues, and long-term environmental and infrastructure damage.
FLOODEX floodvents help prevent the deadly "domino effect" which can often result when a foundation is damaged or collapses. This includes downstream damage to infrastructure such as bridges, dams, roads and other homes and businesses due to the awesome power of floodborne debris and pollutants such as raw sewage, flammable petrochemicals and harmful or deadly forms of mold. FLOODEX vents help protect regional economic and cultural stability, soil and water quality, wildlife habitat, lakes, streams, rivers, estuaries and even the oceans while helping promote sustainable communities.
FLOODEX flood vents are fully automatic with no power source or human intervention required, and have NO thermal device which might render the flood venting feature inoperative when exposed to cold water. FLOODEX vents feature manual control from inside or out to vent air and radon, ALWAYS remaining automatic as flood vents and repelling animals, reptiles and insects in all modes. NO OTHER PRODUCT DOES SO! FLOODEX floodvents meet and/or exceed the following code rules for automatic, passive, non-engineered foundation floodvents or openings to equalize hydrostatic pressure of floodwaters:
