Extensive Arsenic Removal Project Completed For Izmir, Turkey Utilizing GreensandPlus™ From Inversand Company USA
In the last five months, Izmir, Turkey, the third largest city and the second largest port after Istanbul, on the Gulf of Izmir by the Aegean Sea completed a two-phase project for arsenic removal from their metropolitan water supply with GreensandPlus from Inversand USA. Each of the two phases of this water filtration project treats 39.6 MGD. According to the mayor of the Izmir metropolitan municipality Mr. Aziz Kocaoglu, "Everyone in the world has problems due to the scarcity of water resources and because of this we have to save our water." Coincidentally, the arsenic removal project is also in line with the on-going Izmir, Turkey water saving campaign, "Water Is Life, Don't Waste It."
Nema Kimya is a member of the Nema Holding group of companies and provided this installation. Inversand Company shipped 25 containers of GreensandPlus to Nema Kimya with each container holding 20 metric tons for the 12,500 cu. ft. total required to complete this project.
