Efficient, Safe And Non-Clogging Equals Longevity For Wastewater Pumps

Frank Rebori, President of Smith & Loveless, recently sat down with Water Online Radio to explain the equation:
Efficient + Safe + Non-Clogged = Longevity
As some manufacturers move to a 2-inch pump to try to improve efficiency, Rebori states that pump efficiency at Smith & Loveless starts with a full 3-inch solids handling pump capable of dealing with wastewater and its properties. Safety is ensured by installing dry pit pumps below grade or using an above grade well wall-mounted pump station so there is never an exposed hole to work over when maintaining your submersible. And clogging is reduced by applying a single port impeller trimmed to the exact specification point for the service required. All of which adds up to longevity.
Rebori also discussed his company’s $1M Grit Research Center focused on improving grit removal and grit testing technologies and the company’s portfolio of decentralized treatment systems.
