Eclipse Gear Pumps For Chemical Dosing: VanLare Wastewater Treatment Facility

van-lare

The Frank E. VanLare Waste Water Treatment Facility, located on the southern shore of Lake Ontario in Monroe County, New York, has a total treatment capacity of 660 million gallons per day (mgd) and currently operates at around 100 mgd. The facility uses Non-metallic Eclipse pumps to handle the 12.5% Sodium Hypochlorite (Chlorine) used for disinfection before the wastewater's final discharge. Operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the VanLare facility benefits from the leak-free performance of Eclipse pumps, ensuring environmental and worker safety.

The use of Keep On Pumping kits (KOPkit®) allows for quick and easy replacement of wear parts, contributing to low maintenance costs and reducing both downtime and chemical waste. Initially, the facility used peristaltic pumps for Sodium Hypochlorite dosing, but the Environmental Service team sought a more effective solution, leading to the adoption of Eclipse pumps.
