The Saline Water Conversion Corporation revealed a number of its future targets, investment opportunities and innovative solutions, during its participation in the World Water Summit 2023, which kicked off in Berlin from May 8 to 10.

In the special session on investment in the water sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the conference, the Deputy Governor for Production Affairs, Engineer Abdullah Al-Zuwaid, confirmed the start of the first phase to reduce 37 million tons annually of carbon emissions before the end of 2025.

He added that among the objectives: raising the level of production in the institution to a new record of 7.6 million cubic meters per day during 2023, and reducing energy consumption for production per meter to 2.5 kW by the end of the year 2025 with environmentally friendly solutions and technologies that play a pivotal role in overcoming the challenge of production cost and energy consumption. energy.

He added that among the objectives: raising the level of production in the institution to a new record of 7.6 million cubic meters per day during 2023, and reducing energy consumption for production per meter to 2.5 kW by the end of the year 2025 with environmentally friendly solutions and technologies that play a pivotal role in overcoming the challenge of production cost and energy consumption. energy.

The Desalination Company shared its pioneering experience to enhance water security and develop the future of water, through the Institute of Research, Innovation and Desalination Technologies, which highlighted the institution's innovative efforts in shaping the future, developing technologies, improving efficiency, reducing costs, and maximizing the benefit from the circular economy concept with the latest innovations and creative solutions. And successful experiences in the desalination industry.

On the sidelines of the conference, the Corporation organized a workshop to which it invited a group of specialized international companies and a group of qualified local and international contractors, with the aim of enabling its partners to conclude global partnerships to achieve its strategies in implementing its future projects, and raising the level of competitiveness in reducing construction, production and transportation costs per cubic meter of desalinated water in the future.

The workshop discussed ways to benefit from artificial intelligence applications to raise operational efficiency, reduce costs in production systems, and maximize the use of modern technologies in future projects, in the context of "desalination" engineering trends and innovative methodologies, and aspirations to benefit from the expertise of international companies specialized in the fields of manufacturing and construction.

The workshop discussed activating partnerships, enhancing cooperation, and transferring successful Saudi knowledge to serve the global water sector, contributing to finding solutions to the growing demand for drinking water, and contributing to addressing the problem of water scarcity globally. It reviewed desalination investment opportunities for specialized companies and international contractors to enter into the projects being offered.
