Czech Republic Ministry Of Environment Hosts Water Management Congress Europe In Prague

The twenty-first century is the century in which the overriding problem is one of water management. By comparing water consumption with its availability, the United Nations have predicted that by the middle of this century between 2 billion and 7 billion people will be faced with water scarcity. With population growth and urbanization, agricultural demand, energy requirements, economic and industrial growth, development of tourism and globalization, water quality is also at stake. In spite of international efforts to promote a sustainable water management and preservation, water issues remain recurring and even more worrisome in all the regions of the world.
