CH2M HILL To Share Innovative Water Solutions At Singapore International Water Week

Showcasing sustainable water and energy technology to address water and urban sustainability challenges

CH2M HILL, a global full-service consulting, design, construction, and operations firm, announces that it will share its technical expertise during the Singapore International Water Week (SIWW), as a founding sponsor. Hosted by the Singapore Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, and Singapore’s National Water Agency, PUB, from June 1-5, this exclusive integrated event will focus on water and urban sustainability, drawing participation from more than 19,000 water professionals and elected officials from more than 100 countries.

“CH2M HILL is pleased to once again be a founding sponsor of Singapore International Water Week. The conference provides an important venue for thought leadership and idea exchange on the integration of water and the development of more sustainable cities now and in the future,” says Greg McIntyre, CH2M HILL Global Water Market President. “Urban landscapes are changing and our limited water and energy supply is impacting how we think about building communities and cities. Singapore is on the leading edge of implementing innovative water solutions that can be a model for other nations.”

As part of Singapore’s strategic program to grow the water industry and develop leading water technologies, SIWW will emphasize the significance of sustainable water management and how it relates to developing livable, sustainable cities. This year’s convention is centered on four themes: Municipal Water, Industrial Water, Integrated City-Environment-Water, and Future of Water.

During the SIWW Water Convention, CH2M HILL employees will speak on a variety of topics, including advanced water and wastewater treatment for municipal and industrial projects in the oil and gas and petrochemical industry, green infrastructure and urban wet weather solutions, integrated water resources management, intelligent smart grid water solutions, and climate adaptation. Dr. Daigger will address innovative solutions for water treatment and reuse by looking at the opportunities for cooperation within and between industries and municipal water and agriculture for water reuse.

Greg McIntyre, CH2M HILL Global Water Market President, was appointed as a member of the International Advisory Panel (IAP) for the Institute of Water Policy (IWP) under the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. He will join government, private sector, and academia leaders from around the world on Tuesday, June 3 for the IAP meeting to discuss cutting-edge water policy research and education within Singapore and beyond.

CH2M HILL was the program manager and designer for the Deep Tunnel Sewerage System, which won the ‘Water Project of the Year’ at the GWI Global Awards 2009; the Changi Water Reclamation Plant, one of the world’s largest water reclamation projects; and PUB’s Active, Beautiful, Clean Waters (ABC Waters) program, which launched in April 2006 and has helped transform the water bodies in Singapore beyond their utilitarian functions, creating new community spaces as well as a higher quality of living in Singapore. Howie Tan, CH2M HILL Project Manager will present his paper, “Project Implementation Strategies for ABC Waters Projects,” during the launch of the ABC Waters Design Guidelines-cum Seminar on Wednesday, June 4.
