Flat Rock Water Reclamation Facility │ Gainesville, GA, USA

Operated by the City's Water Resources Department in Gainesville, Georgia, the Flat Creek Reclaimed Water Plant has won national and regional Operations and Management awards, earning its reputation for innovation and a solid track record of complying with strict environmental licensing requirements. Despite this award-winning track record, the station experienced failures in some of its ambient aeration equipment, resulting in effluents that temporarily exceeded the requirements of current environmental legislation. Hot summer temperatures intensified the effects of the failed aeration equipment, further compromising the biological treatment process. Read more to learn how the City worked with ChartWater™ to provide emergency, supplemental oxygenation using BlueInGreen’s supersaturated dissolved oxygen (SDOX®) technology under a flexible a monthly equipment and service contract to overcome the large accumulation of organics and nitrogen and produce a high-quality effluent that met requirements of the facility's NPDES environmental.
