Backwash Filters

N/Abackwash filters are said to provide efficient removal of contaminants from liquid process streams. The crescent-shaped pleat design is said to provide ten times the surface area of standard cylindrical filter cartridges of comparable length and diameter.

The uniform, pre-fixed pore construction of the filter media allows suspended solids to be collected without the use of a filter aid or additive. The design, with stainless steel core and high-tension mesh wrap, maintains its structural integrity through changing influent conditions and repeated backwash cleanings.

The filters are compatible with acids, caustics, and solvents at temperatures up to 160°F (71°C). They can be used with fluids containing a low concentration of solids—less than 100 ppm. Applications include filtration of condensate in nuclear power generation stations, treatment of municipal water and industrial wastewater, brine filtration and filtering of produced water used for enhanced oil recovery.
