ARCADIS Promotes Ten Staff Members To AVP, VP, And Senior VP

ARCADIS, the leading pure play global engineering and consultancy firm, announced recently it recently promoted ten staff members to various levels of vice presidency - two to senior vice president, two to vice president, and six to associate vice president.  

The following staff members were promoted to senior vice president:

Jack Hartigan, PE, BCEE holds an MS in Civil Engineering and Masters in City Planning from Georgia Tech, as well as a BS in Engineering from Bucknell University. He has served as a client manager for water and wastewater utilities throughout the Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. area for more than 20 years. Additionally, he is a member of the American Water Works Association (AWWA), Water Environment Federation (WEF), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and the American Academy of Environmental Engineers (AAEE). Hartigan has worked at ARCADIS for six years in Arlington, Va.

Barry Quinn of Chicago has more than 30 years of experience in the successful delivery of educational and cultural programs, complex public programs, and major private developments throughout the United States and internationally. He studied in the Masters of Town Planning program at the University of British Columbia, the Masters of Urban Planning program at Syracuse University, and holds a BS in Administration and Planning from Springfield College.

The following staff members were promoted to vice president:

Wendy Stoveland, is responsible for strategic positioning of ARCADIS in the U.S. marketplace and leads the corporate marketing and communications team of professionals engaged in public relations, market positioning, employee engagement communications, conferences and events, and web/e-tools. An active member of the Society of Marketers of Professional Services and International Association of Business Communicators, Stoveland also has performed master’s studies in integrated marketing/communications from Manhattanville College and holds a BA in English from the State University of New York at Geneseo. Stoveland works out of ARCADIS’ White Plains, N.Y. office.

The following staff members were promoted to associate vice president:

Amy R. Dant, from Millersville, Md., serves as a communications leader, successfully developing, implementing, and managing an internal communications program tailored at increasing employee engagement and aligning with overall company strategy. With 25 years of experience at ARCADIS, Dant has worked in a variety of roles from proposal and graphics development to advertising. She is a member of the International Association of Business Communicators, and holds a BA in Geology from Susquehanna University.

Edward Kowalski, PE, PMP is ARCADIS’ northeast region automation manager, working with clients in the industrial and municipal water, wastewater and environmental remediation markets. Kowalski, based out of White Plains, N.Y., has worked on planning, design and integration of automation systems on facilities of all sizes throughout the U.S. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Hofstra University and is a member of WEF and the Project Management Institute.

Carolyn A. Lowe, PE works with clients in lower New York and Connecticut and has worked on improvement projects for drinking and wastewater treatment plants from the White Plains, N.Y. office. An active member of WEF, AWWA, and the New York State Society of Professional Engineers, Lowe also holds an MS in Environmental Engineering from the University of Massachusetts (Amherst) and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Union College.

Sandra K. Ralston works for ARCADIS in its Charleston, S.C. office helping clients address a wide spectrum of water issues from watershed water quality, cyber security and business continuity, to facilities planning. She is the current president-elect of WEF for 2012-2013, has served on the WEF Board of Trustees since 2009, and previously served as the chairman of the WEF Government Affairs Committee where she stressed the need to modernize the Clean Water Act to align it with today’s water quality needs. Ralston is also involved in the Indiana Water Environment Association, Water Environment Association of South Carolina, International City Managers Association, and South Carolina Water Quality Association. She earned her MBA from George Washington University and BA from the University of Colorado.

Mike Wooden, PE has been working at ARCADIS for approximately 15 years out of Richmond, Va. A member of AWWA, WEF, and ASCE, Wooden provides planning, design, and construction phase engineering services for water clients to protect public health and the environment. He holds an MS in Environmental Engineering from Georgia Tech and a BS in Civil Engineering from Cornell University.

Anwar Zahid, PhD, PE holds a PhD in Structural Engineering and Mechanics from North Carolina State University. A member of the ASCE and Society of Military Engineers (SAME), his most recent projects include working on the Greater New Orleans Hurricane and Storm Damage Risk Reduction System, including the IHNC-Seabrook Sector Gate Complex, as well as the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway – West Closure Complex pump station, the largest drainage pump station in the world.
