Beverage plants are constantly striving to meet stricter quality standards and find ways to control microbial growth in their products without resorting to chemical additives. One popular solution that is gaining traction is the use of ultraviolet (UV) technology. UV treatment has been proven effective in inactivating all known food spoilage organisms, making it an ideal choice for beverage plants.

Liquid sugar, which is used in the production of soft drinks, is created using different types of sugars and sweeteners. The flow rates and UV transmittance of liquid sugar can vary depending on the size of the bottling plant. To ensure the inactivation of harmful microorganisms, a dosage of 50 mJ/cm² is typically required for liquid sugar treatment.

Aquafine UV systems are specifically designed to treat liquid sugar with high osmotic pressure and contain glucose and sucrose. UV treatment offers numerous benefits, such as increased product quality and shelf life, reduced food discoloration, and cost-effectiveness compared to pasteurization.
